I want a hippopotamus for Christmas

When london was maybe 1 yr old we discovered that the only song that would calm her down on the car rides from Lethbridge to Cardston was I want a hippopotamus for Christmas. For the next year or so whenever she would get upset in the car we would turn that song on and it would calm her down whether it was the middle of July or at Christmas time. So anyways to this day that is still one of her favorite songs. As we speak she is listening to it and running in laps around the living room singing it! What is kind of funny about the whole thing too is that London's first stuffed animal when she was born was the pink hippo in the picture above. She got it from My sister Andrea and her husband Mark and to this day it is her favorite stuffed animal!

In other news...

Today huntly was sitting on my lap and i was just talking to him and discovered that he recognizes the word "no". whenever I say "no" to him when he is doing something wrong, I say it really nicely and shake my head. So today when he was on my lap I said no to him about something and he started shaking his head. At first I wondered if it was just a fluke but I waited and did it a few more times and each time he shook his head! It's so cute. LOVE HIM

Oh Poop!!!

So today I was busy doing some stuff and I turned around to check on Huntly and he had ripped off his diaper and there were little chunks of poo all over the floor! gross.. and he was crawling around naked from the waist down. I suppose it was my own fault cuz I had neglected to put his pants back on after his previous diaper change.. I guess I'll have to remember to do that from now on lol.

Big Boy

Huntly has recently learned how to climb the stairs and does it pretty well now. So the other day I noticed he wasnt in the living room anymore and had wandered away from where I could see him so I got up to see if he was going up the stairs. Well he was about half way up and I saw him and said " Hey! what are you doing", and he looks at me and drops to his stomach and starts sliding down backwards. If I had done that to London when she was that age she would have lost her ballance and fallen down the stairs. It was funny though cuz by his facial expression it was like he thought he was in trouble. haha so cute and smart!

Todays News

So Huntly decided today to know how to climb stairs. I was watching ellen and I went over to the stairs cuz I couldn't see him and he was up like 5 steps! He is growing up way too fast. So I guess I have to put up the gate now lol He has less than 2 months till he turns 1 and Im sure he will be walking by then. I weighed him yesterday and he weighs 24 lbs now. So big. when london turned 1 she was probably only 20 lbs and he isn't even 1 yet!

Grande Prairie Trip

Well it's been a fun week with my family. We got to go to Grande Prairie and stay at Corey and Mandy's house. It was a long drive but definitely worth it! I think the highlight of it all was meeting my amazing new little nephew Stratten. He is so adorable and sweet! I loved getting to hold him and cuddle with him! LOVE LOVE LOVE him!

We left Cardston on Wednesday evening and went to Edmonton. We stayed in this cheap motel and London was so excited. She thought it was the coolest thing. It was so cute. She turned the tv right on and explored while watching max and Ruby. She had a great time.

London was so excited to see Sterling and Piper. She always loves seeing her cousins. Her and Piper had so much fun together. The first morning we were up there Jeff got to go hunting with the guys. It sounded like they had a good time. Jeff got some disgusting video coverage of them gutting a moose. And apparently a very large elk charged at Jeff.. who was un-armed lol.. funny but not. Anyways later that day we all went out and did some skeet shooting. So fun.. I haven't shot a gun in a really long time though so the first few shots I took were a little shocking for me. Every time I pulled the trigger I would close my eyes bracing for the shot. lol But after a little practice I finally got one!!! I was probably the most excited out of anyone. I was like " I GOT IT, wait a sec did I really get that.. wow!"

The rest of the trip was great too. I got to go to a Christmas show at a green house. It was pretty sweet. They had so many trees set up with decorations and all sorts of other cool stuff. We also had a Guy Fawkes Day Bonfire at my uncle Bruce and Aunt Sharons house. It was fun getting together with Tina and Lincoln and their kids, grandpa, Bruce, Sharon, and all my family. After the Bonfire we went to this yogurt place called Menchies...can I just say DELICIOUS!!! It's a frozen yogurt place. It was amazing and now me and Jeff cant stop craving it! pretty sure I'd go there everyday if I could. Jeff too.

Sunday was Strattens baby blessing. He looked soooooo adorable. He had the cutest little outfit on and he is just so little and sweet. I'm glad we were able to be there for that!

Halloween 2011

So the kids looked so cute for Halloween yesterday! Huntly was dressed up as a monkey ( London's costume from when she was around that age) and London dressed up as a pirate. They were so adorable. London was so excited to go trick or treating. It was pretty cold and windy out so we had to throw a few layers on under her costume but luckily she still looked amazing. She was so funny acting like a pirate and getting into character. we didn't go to too many houses but she had a great time.

~A Funny Story~

Yesterday London was down stairs coloring for a while. I came down and noticed her crayons were gone and asked her where they were and she says, " They're in Carters juice hole."

I was so confused.. I wasn't even certain that she said what I thought she said and so I looked around a bit and noticed the crayons in the cup holder on the couch.. like she said they were in the juice hole.

It's funny how kids see things and make up new names for them.

Huntly John Redford

Well after 8 and a half months of waiting, baby Huntly is finally here!

On December 29th at 7 am, Jeff and I headed to the Hospital here in Lethbridge to prepare for our C section that would happen later that morning. We were taken into a room in the Labor and Delivery part of the hospital where I got into my very attractive hospital gown and compression socks (which the nurse informed me I put on backwards..so I had to flip them around lol). We waited a little while and then a nurse finally told us she was going to take us to my private room where I would be staying after my C section.

Around 10:30 am I was wheeled in my bed down to Pre Op where I waited for about a half hour while someone went through all my information with me for the millionth time. The anesthesiologist came and explained to me what was going to happen and soon after I was wheeled into the O.R. The whole process went quickly . There was a sheet up between me and where the surgery was happening so I couldnt see our baby when he was pulled out but the moment I heard his first cry .. well I cried. Before we knew it Jeff and I were looking at our wonderful little baby boy. He is so Beautiful and we are so happy and grateful to have him in our lives.

We named him Huntly John Redford. He weighed 7 lb 12 oz. He was 20 inches long and he was born at 11:46 am.

Since that morning we have Enjoyed having him in our lives. He is an amazing baby. He is very calm and he is a great sleeper. He is our little man.. so cute!

London is such a good big sister. She is a good helper and has so much love for her little brother. She loves hugging and kissing him and stroking his hair. It is so sweet watching her hold him in her arms. She pointed at his eyes today and said "Baby has tiny eyes". and she tried to squeeze his nose and say "beep beep".
